The final day began on a celebratory note for Singapore, with young silat exponent Dhani Andika Razali claiming gold in the men’s under-45kg category. The 20-year-old delivered a confident performance in the final, defeating his Indonesian opponent by a wide margin and securing one of Singapore’s standout moments of the tournament. His victory was seen as a sign of the country’s growing strength in the martial art.

However, not all finals went as planned for Singapore. In another gold medal bout, an experienced competitor was unable to overcome a strong Vietnamese challenger, settling for silver after a one-sided contest. These mixed results meant Singapore ended the silat campaign with fewer gold medals than in the previous edition of the Games, though the team still returned home with a respectable medal haul across several categories.

Behind the scenes, tensions had already been building a day earlier during the quarter-finals of the women’s 50 to 55kg event. That bout ended with both fighters level on points, forcing officials to apply a tie-breaking rule. The decision awarded victory to the Thai athlete, leaving the Malaysian camp deeply dissatisfied with the outcome.
