Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi officially opened the Egypt Defence Expo 2025 (EDEX 2025), a major event for the defence and security sectors across the region. Many esteemed delegations and companies from around the world converged to showcase state-of-the-art defence solutions.
During the inaugural visit, President El Sisi toured the UAE Pavilion, organized by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council for Defence Empowerment. Featured were leading UAE companies such as EDGE Group, Calidus, GAL, AMMROC, and ADNEC, displaying innovations in aerial and land systems, cybersecurity, military manufacturing, and technical assistance.
Prominent officials and leaders visited the UAE Pavilion, including Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Major General Yousef Mayouf Al Halami, Commander of the Land Forces; and Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council. Egyptian leaders, such as Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, were also in attendance.
The UAE Pavilion was lauded for its exceptional organization and showcased advanced technologies, affirming the UAE's pivotal role in fostering defence innovation and the development of modern military industries.
On the opening day, a series of signing ceremonies took place to bolster industrial and defence collaboration between the UAE and Egypt. AMMROC finalized three agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation concerning aircraft, engines, and digital manufacturing. Additionally, GAL and Abu Dhabi Aviation Group both signed multiple memoranda aimed at enhancing joint military manufacturing and technology exchange.
The UAE's presence at EDEX 2025 underscores its dedication to forging strategic partnerships, advancing its national defence sectors on an international scale, and supporting Egypt's security and defence growth. This involvement showcases the strengthening alliance between the two nations in defence technology and industrial progress.
The UAE Pavilion and the agreements established reflect the country’s commitment to excellence, modernization, and cooperative ventures within the defence sector. This event deepens ties between the UAE and Egypt, nurturing collaborative efforts in military innovation and advanced industry projects.
EDEX 2025 also served as a platform for UAE firms to showcase their operational strengths, pursue joint ventures, and share insights with Egyptian counterparts. Such partnerships promise long-lasting growth in the defence industry, benefitting both countries and reinforcing the UAE’s status as a regional authority in defence technology.
