India’s teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued to impress as he scored a blazing century in the opening match of the Under-19 Asia Cup against the UAE at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on December 12, 2025. The 14-year-old achieved this remarkable milestone in just 56 balls, hitting nine fours and five sixes, marking his sixth century in 2025 and showcasing his extraordinary batting prowess.
Vaibhav began his innings cautiously, getting off the mark with a boundary on the sixth delivery against Ali Asgar. He soon accelerated, taking on the left-arm seamer and smashing two sixes in the very next over. He reached his half-century in only 30 balls with a towering six against Ahmed Khudadad. Despite being dropped on 85 while attempting a big hit off Uddish Suri, Vaibhav maintained his composure and brought up his century with a single. His innings set the tone for India after they were sent in to bat first.
This was Vaibhav’s second List A century this year, following his first earlier in England, and his sixth across formats in 2025, reflecting his exceptional consistency and form. He had previously scored his maiden century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Maharashtra, achieving 100 runs off just 57 balls with seven sixes and seven fours, demonstrating his ability to dominate bowlers even on less favorable pitches.
Vaibhav finished unbeaten on 108 from 61 deliveries in that innings, helping Bihar post 176 for 3 in 20 overs. His performances in domestic and international youth cricket have been equally stellar. During the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha, he scored 239 runs at an average of 59.75, including a 32-ball century against the UAE, despite India losing the semi-final to Bangladesh.
Vaibhav’s rise has been meteoric, having made his Ranji Trophy debut at just 12 years old. He gained widespread attention after a sensational IPL debut season with the Rajasthan Royals, where he scored 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.55, including a blistering 38-ball century against the Gujarat Titans—the second-fastest in IPL history—making him the youngest centurion in the tournament.
With his explosive batting, record-breaking innings, and consistent performances in 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is undoubtedly one of India’s brightest cricketing prospects, captivating fans with his talent and promise at just 14 years of age.
