Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are embarking on a significant venture with their upcoming war film, 120 Bahadur. This film will uniquely be available across defence theatres all over India, marking it as the first Indian project to reach such audiences through PictureTime’s growing mobile cinema network. It is set to release globally on November 21.
In collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, PictureTime is facilitating screenings in more than 800 defence cinemas nationwide, primarily catering to the armed forces and their families who reside in remote areas with limited access to conventional cinemas. This initiative aims to bring the cinematic experience directly to the military community.
Sushil Chaudhary, the Founder and CEO of PictureTime, emphasized the importance of serving a large yet underserved audience. He pointed out that India boasts about 1.5 million active soldiers along with countless veterans and families, highlighting that currently, only a fraction have access to defence theatres. He expressed that the debut of this broader network with 120 Bahadur is particularly significant due to its emotional resonance with the military.
Vishal Ramchandani, CEO of Excel Entertainment, conveyed his gratitude that the film will be viewed by those it aims to honor prior to its official public release. He remarked on the privilege of having soldiers and their families as the first audience, thanking PictureTime for making this extensive outreach possible.
120 Bahadur draws inspiration from the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal event in India’s military heritage. Starring Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, and more, the film also features senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan in significant roles.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, the film is expected to be released in cinemas on November 21.
