During the Milken Institute Global Conference, a prominent event that gathers leaders in policy, investment, and innovation, His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori called for global collaboration with Abu Dhabi to forge advanced healthcare solutions fueled by artificial intelligence (AI).
In a session titled “Reimagining Healthcare, for Abu Dhabi and Beyond,” alongside Diane Brady, Al Mansoori emphasized the emirate's shift towards a preventive healthcare system centered on early detection and ongoing health monitoring, moving away from conventional treatment methods.
Al Mansoori portrayed Abu Dhabi as a pioneering environment for testing AI-driven healthcare advancements, built on a robust digital health foundation. He noted that AI is currently enhancing drug discovery processes by integrating data points such as genotype, phenotype, and wearable technology insights into a cohesive intelligent system.
He explained that this system functions as a dynamic evidence engine, enabling healthcare providers and companies to evaluate product effectiveness and patient outcomes in real time.
He acknowledged the significance of predictive healthcare, advocating for systems that can identify health concerns early, preventing the escalation into serious conditions. Abu Dhabi’s data-centric platform integrates various medical information, empowering authorities to oversee and manage healthcare more efficiently.
During the conversation, Al Mansoori elaborated on the function of AI Agents within Abu Dhabi’s Unified Medical Operations Command Centre (UMOC), likening it to the “brain” of the emirate’s healthcare framework.
He noted that these AI Agents have enhanced operational efficacy by facilitating real-time incident detection, boosting emergency response rates and initiating medical assistance even while patients are en route in ambulances. This AI-centric system establishes an ongoing intelligence loop that strengthens healthcare preparedness and resilience.
Al Mansoori expressed that Abu Dhabi’s long-term healthcare vision hinges on economic diversification, technology investments, infrastructure enhancements, and nurturing human expertise. He reiterated the commitment to craft a healthcare model that “prioritizes care before cure,” ensuring broader access to health intelligence and preventive care options.
On the conference sidelines, Al Mansoori also engaged with international figures from the realms of AI, biotechnology, genomics, pediatrics, longevity, and investment at a dedicated dinner hosted by the Future Health – A Global Initiative by Abu Dhabi.
The dialogues centered on creating anticipatory healthcare systems, widening access to predictive health insights, and examining innovative funding models aimed at enhancing long-term health outcomes worldwide.
