The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), under the auspices of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has officially revealed a new timeline for the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The esteemed cultural gathering will now occur from September 13 to 18, 2026, rather than in April as initially scheduled.
This decision highlights the event's escalating global significance and its vital role as a cultural beacon in the region. Organizers have opted for this revised date to facilitate stronger international attendance and continued engagement from visitors.
Officials reported that the change followed comprehensive discussions with global partners, publishing agencies, and relevant UAE authorities. Considerations regarding international travel conditions, guest availability, and logistics that affect the publishing realm were crucial in this decision.
In conjunction with the new dates, organizers affirmed that the 20th edition of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award ceremony will coincide with the book fair in September, thereby enriching the event’s cultural milieu.
This adjustment is anticipated to bolster Abu Dhabi's reputation as a worldwide center for literature, publishing, and cultural exchange, all while providing a more inclusive platform for global participants.
