The thrilling Dubai International Baja 2025 wrapped up on Sunday after the intense 270km Zayed and Rashid Stage 3 in the picturesque Al Qudra Desert. This final stage heralded the end of the competitive season for athletes from both the FIA and FIM Baja World Cups, featuring elite riders and drivers from around the globe, all eager to make a strong finish.
A standout moment was certainly UAE's Mohammed Al Balooshi, who made history by clinching his fourth FIM Bajas World Cup title, a first for any rider. His adept performance over the three days in Hatta and Al Qudra was characterized by skill, poise, and confidence. Al Balooshi’s successful run solidified his status as one of the foremost riders in the world of baja motorcycling and reaffirmed his dominant position among Emirati competitors.
Staying composed even under duress, Al Balooshi showcased remarkable experience and expertise throughout the event. His latest world title not only signifies personal success but is also a moment of pride for the UAE motorsport community, inspiring countless young riders who view him as a beacon of hope.
The Quads category also shone brightly, with UAE’s Abdulaziz Ahli claiming yet another Dubai International Baja victory. Despite facing significant mechanical troubles that nearly led to his exit, Ahli’s perseverance prevailed. He did surrender the final stage to Poland’s Marcin Wilkolek but maintained a comfortable overall lead, earning the championship by more than 15 minutes, which showcased his exceptional prowess in quad racing.
In the vehicle category, Argentina’s Juan Cruz Yacopini, alongside co-driver Dani Oliveras, celebrated a landmark win, clinching the Dubai International Rally title for the first time. This victory marked Yacopini’s fifth win out of six races this season, emphasizing his remarkable consistency. It also capped a fantastic year for the Toyota Hilux team, who are optimistic about their prospects as the winter break approaches.
The Dubai International Baja 2025 once again solidified its reputation as a pivotal event in the desert racing sphere. Contestants faced demanding dunes, lengthy stages, and erratic weather, all testing their skills and endurance. Over three action-packed days, drivers took on rocky terrains, soft sands, and high temperatures.
Despite numerous challenges, the event was filled with thrilling finishes and unforgettable tales. Praise poured in from fans, teams, and officials regarding the organization and the high level of skill on display. The Baja event also underscored the UAE’s significant influence within the international motorsport arena, particularly in off-road and desert racing.
This edition will be remembered for breaking records, fierce competitions, and inspiring performances across various categories. As the motorsport season concludes, competitors look forward to a much-deserved break before gearing up for another year of challenges, eager to make an even stronger comeback.
