Al Seer Marine (ASM) has achieved a significant milestone, expanding its Commercial Shipping Division to a total of 18 vessels in just three years. The growth underscores the company’s ambitious strategy to strengthen its presence in the global energy transport sector.
In partnership with BGN, a rapidly growing energy and commodities trading company, ASM has successfully completed its dual-fuel Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) fleet programme under the joint venture ABGC DMCC. The delivery of the final two vessels, Megrez and Mizar, on 31st October and 3rd November 2025, respectively, raises the joint venture’s VLGC fleet to five vessels. These carriers are designed to enhance operational flexibility and efficiency, meeting both current and future energy transport demands.
Megrez, with a capacity of 86,925 CBM, was built at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Sakaide Shipyard in Japan, while Mizar, at 88,000 CBM, was constructed by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Mokpo, South Korea. Both vessels will be managed by Fleet Management Limited in Singapore, ensuring global standards of operational excellence.
The new vessels are dual-fuel enabled and capable of carrying ammonia (NH₃) in addition to LPG, aligning with the industry’s shift toward cleaner and more sustainable fuels. The expansion reflects the growing demand for VLGC and LGC carriers amid global energy supply chain transformations, driven by geopolitical shifts and trade disruptions.
With a diversified portfolio that now includes LPG carriers, VLGCs, VLCCs, MR tankers, bulk carriers, and product tankers, Al Seer Marine continues to strengthen its leadership in maritime transport. The fleet expansion not only supports sustained revenue growth but also reinforces the company’s commitment to efficient, environmentally conscious energy transportation.
The achievement positions Al Seer Marine and ABGC DMCC to meet rising energy transport needs while embracing future-focused technologies, setting a benchmark for sustainability and operational excellence in the Middle East shipping sector.
