Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a high-level meeting with the top brass of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) at Wisma Perwira, Kuala Lumpur, on February 24, 2026. The meeting lasted about an hour and focused on national security and defence preparedness.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Chief of Defence Forces General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman, and other senior officials also attended the session. Discussions included strengthening governance within the forces and ensuring the welfare of MAF personnel.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Malaysia’s national security framework and ensure military readiness in the face of evolving challenges. Officials emphasized collaboration between government agencies and the armed forces to maintain stability and public safety.
After the closed-door talks, Anwar participated in the Defence Ministry’s Ihya Ramadan programme at the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque, joined Zohor prayers, and distributed bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) to attendees, highlighting the government’s engagement with military personnel and community welfare.
