The Military Sports Union arena at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Al Raffah has officially opened the Bahrain National Arabian Horse Beauty Championship for the 2025–2026 season. This marks the inaugural event organized by the Arabian Horse Beauty Committee under the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF). The championship underscores Bahrain’s commitment to celebrating its rich heritage in breeding purebred Arabian horses.
Day one included both qualifying and final rounds for key categories: yearling fillies (A and B), junior fillies (A and B), and mares (A and B). The competitions were judged by a panel of five accredited judges, supplemented by five members from the disciplinary committee and two arena directors, all recognized by a prominent European Arabian horse organization. This level of oversight ensured the highest standards of competition for entrants from various stables.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, BREEF President, spoke about the Federation's enduring support for Arabian horse beauty contests, emphasizing their significance in Bahrain’s cultural landscape. He stated that the championship not only embodies Kuwait’s deep passion for purebred Arabian horses but also solidifies the nation’s reputation as a leader in Arabian horse breeding within the region.
In his remarks, HH Shaikh Isa commended the Arabian Horse Beauty Committee for their diligent preparations for the event. He acknowledged that their commitment is crucial for the advancement of equestrian sports in Bahrain and encourages local stables and owners to enhance their breeding programs. He also recognized the media’s essential role in promoting equestrian activities, which aids in boosting public interest in the sport.
The event received robust support from various partners and sponsors, whose involvement fosters community engagement and strengthens the sports sector. HH Shaikh Isa expressed gratitude to major sponsors, including diamond partners Bapco Energies and Al Salam Bank, platinum sponsor BINAA, gold sponsor stc, and silver sponsors such as Alba and GPIC. Bronze sponsors include Bahrain Development Bank and others.
In the yearling fillies division, Ghaliya Al Haram from Al Haram Stud won gold, followed by silver medalist Anwar Al Harm, also from Al Haram Stud, and bronze medalist Fareeda Al Raheel from Al Raheel Stud.
In the junior fillies category, Aalia Al Haddar from Al Hayat Stud took home the gold, while silver went to Manayer, owned by Fadhel Haider, and bronze was awarded to Aali Queen Victoria from Zouheir Hawilo.
For the mares, gold was claimed by Jihandra from Osama Al Haram, silver went to De Asaliyah from Dubai Arabian Stud, and bronze was secured by TFK Hala, owned by Talal Fawzi Kanoo. These outcomes reflect the competitive spirit and breeding excellence within Bahrain.
This championship not only highlights the elegance of Arabian horses but also enhances Bahrain’s stature in equestrian sports. With meticulous judging, significant sponsorship, and active media engagement, the event champions local breeding initiatives and encourages greater participation within the Arabian horse community. BREEF is committed to further expansion of these competitions, aiming to make them a staple in Bahrain’s equestrian tradition and a highlight for breeders and enthusiasts nationwide.
