In a thrilling Hall of Fame Series game held in Inglewood, California, the prestigious basketball programs of Arizona and UCLA clashed once again. Both teams exhibited formidable defense and clever tactics throughout the encounter. Arizona entered with an unblemished record of 4-0, while UCLA had a 3-1 standing. Fans were primed for an action-packed match, and they were certainly not disappointed.
Leading the Wildcats was Anthony Dell’Orso, who netted a remarkable 20 points, proving pivotal especially in the tense closing moments. His shooting was impeccable, including four three-pointers at critical times when confidence was key. Dell’Orso’s performance helped keep Arizona in contention as UCLA sought to extend its lead in the latter stages.
Jaden Bradley contributed 15 points, with 13 coming during the crucial second half; his energy and leadership were indispensable for Arizona. Bradley's confidence shone through as he penetrated the defense, capped off by a late three-pointer. His impressive dunk and soaring bank shot in the final minute propelled Arizona ahead, allowing the Wildcats to secure the victory.
Despite the setback, UCLA showcased impressive gameplay for the most part, led by Tyler Bilodeau’s 19 points—hitting seven of ten shots and crucial three-pointers to maintain UCLA’s lead. Eric Dailey Jr. added 13 points, with Donovan Dent contributing 11 points and eight assists, demonstrating strong playmaker abilities. Xavier Booker played a supportive role, finishing with 10 points and seven rebounds.
At one stage in the second half, Arizona fell behind by as many as eight points due to a strong UCLA offensive surge. However, the Wildcats demonstrated resilience with an 11-2 scoring run, including Dell’Orso's three-pointer that swung momentum back to their side, enabling them to lead 60-59.
As the clock wound down, the final moments reached a crescendo of excitement. Bilodeau's basket briefly returned UCLA to the lead, but Bradley struck back with a thunderous dunk. Clark’s successful shot put UCLA ahead 63-62, only for Bradley to reclaim the lead with a decisive three-pointer. Following up with an impressive bank shot extended Arizona’s advantage to four points.
With only 19 seconds remaining, Dent managed a quick layup for UCLA, narrowing the gap to two points. However, Dell’Orso calmly sank two free throws, sealing the game by extending Arizona's lead to four. Clark’s last attempt from beyond the arc fell short as Arizona controlled the ball until the buzzer sounded.
This victory now marks Arizona's record at 4-0, showcasing their composure under pressure in the final phases of the game. Their blend of aggressive scoring, cohesive teamwork, and late-game execution positions them as a formidable opponent moving forward. UCLA, currently at 3-1, has demonstrated promise but must refine their decision-making in clutch situations.
