Indian badminton player Ashmita Chaliha delivered an impressive performance to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the Malaysia Masters after defeating Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei in straight games.
Ashmita registered a convincing 21-13, 21-16 victory in the pre-quarterfinal clash held in Kuala Lumpur. The Indian shuttler controlled the pace of the match from the beginning and completed the contest in less than 30 minutes.
The match saw Ashmita display excellent court movement, quick reflexes and accurate shot placement against the experienced Malaysian player. She maintained pressure throughout both games and prevented her opponent from building any strong momentum.
In the opening game, Ashmita dominated rallies with aggressive attacking strokes and sharp net play. Her consistency helped her establish an early lead before comfortably taking the first game 21-13.
The second game was slightly more competitive as Goh Jin Wei attempted to stage a comeback with faster exchanges and defensive rallies. However, Ashmita remained composed and produced a disciplined all-round performance to seal the game 21-16.
The victory marks another important achievement for the Indian shuttler, who has been steadily improving on the international badminton circuit. Her confident display in Malaysia has drawn praise from fans and Indian badminton followers.
Ashmita’s progress to the quarterfinal stage also strengthens India’s presence in the tournament as the country continues to produce promising badminton talents on the global stage.
