Air travel across Asia faced major disruption today as thousands of passengers were affected by widespread flight delays and cancellations. A total of 2,687 delays and 54 cancellations were recorded across eleven major airports in the region.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport was the most impacted, reporting 754 delays, the highest among all airports. Singapore Changi Airport followed with 376 delays but recorded no cancellations. In India, Mumbai and Delhi together accounted for more than 600 delays and nine cancellations, significantly affecting domestic and international travel.
Several airlines experienced heavy operational pressure. AirAsia recorded the highest number of delays at a single airport, while Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, IndiGo, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways also reported large-scale disruptions. Jakarta saw the highest number of single-airline cancellations, mainly linked to Batik Air.
Other affected airports included Tokyo Haneda, Taiwan Taoyuan, Bengaluru, Fukuoka, Sultan Hasanuddin, and Imam Khomeini International Airport. Countries impacted by the disruptions included Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, and Iran.
Despite fewer cancellations overall, delays remained widespread, causing inconvenience and uncertainty for travelers across the region.
