Baahubali: The Epic, a re-edited and remastered single‑film presentation of the celebrated Baahubali franchise, opened in cinemas on October 31, 2025. Starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati among others, the release reunites both original instalments into one continuous cut to mark the series’ tenth anniversary.
The release began modestly on Thursday with collections near ₹1.15 crore in India, then surged on Friday to an estimated ₹9.65 crore as fan interest drove ticket sales. Weekend receipts stood at around ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.30 crore on Sunday, producing a three‑day Hindi market tally of just over ₹24 crore.
Monday brought a sharp slowdown, with Monday’s intake falling to roughly ₹1.65 crore and the four‑day India cumulative reaching about ₹26 crore. That represents a drop of nearly 70% from Sunday, signalling a significant weekday softening. Worldwide, the opening weekend is approximated at ₹39.75 crore, supported largely by regional language prints and overseas markets.
While the initial box office shows the franchise’s enduring draw, early weekday underperformance highlights the limits of nostalgia. As a revised compilation rather than wholly new material, the film depends on positive word‑of‑mouth and steady weekday turnout to sustain momentum.
With fresh competition arriving in theatres and many viewers already familiar with the original saga, the next few days will be critical. Industry observers say the film’s first week will be decisive in shaping its overall theatrical run.
