Brad Pitt Takes Legal Action Against Angelina Jolie Over Miraval Winery

Brad Pitt Takes Legal Action Against Angelina Jolie Over Miraval Winery

Post by : Meena Ariff

In a significant turn in the legal saga involving Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the Fight Club actor has launched a lawsuit concerning their jointly-owned Chateau Miraval winery. According to court filings, there was communication between Brad's representatives and Jolie's legal team regarding her 2021 sale of her stake in the winery.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce in December 2024, almost eight years after they initially separated in 2016. The former couple, parents to six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox—have faced numerous legal challenges since their split.

The lawsuit was initially filed by Brad in 2022, asserting that Angelina had sold her share of the winery unilaterally, violating a prior agreement requiring mutual consent for such transactions.

Recent court filings include a November 2023 email from Jolie's attorneys responding to the lawsuit, where they indicated that the obligation to provide documentation for the claimed $35 million in damages “is a matter of Mr. Pitt’s own making.”

Additionally, Angelina's legal team pointed out that Brad is pursuing “ongoing damages for alleged harm to Miraval's continuing operations” while failing to present evidence for his request for a four-year NDA concerning personal misconduct.

Brad Pitt is now demanding access to 22 specific documents, disputing Jolie's recent assertion of attorney-client privilege regarding some communications.
