This Thanksgiving, Cameron and Cayden Boozer created lasting memories on the court, much to the pride of their father, former NBA star Carlos Boozer. The iconic United Center, where Carlos once played, was the backdrop for their thrilling match against Arkansas, showcasing the talent of these twin brothers who are making waves in college basketball.
Cameron, a star in Duke's promising recruiting class under coach Jon Scheyer, delivered an outstanding performance against the No. 22 team, scoring 35 points along with pulling down nine rebounds to help secure the 80-71 victory.
Demonstrating remarkable efficiency, Cameron hit 13 of 18 shots, including a crucial three-pointer during a 10-0 run that propelled Duke to a 32-22 lead in the first half, with his father cheering from the stands.
Even when Arkansas surged ahead in the second half, Cameron answered back with a vital three-point play and several free throws, helping the Blue Devils edge ahead 77-69 in the final moments. Coach Jon Scheyer praised Cameron’s leadership, noting he “put the team on his back” as they navigated high-pressure situations.
Cameron’s impressive season averages include 22.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, leading the team in assists as well. Meanwhile, his twin brother Cayden, though limited in play this game, continues to contribute significantly in team dynamics.
This Thanksgiving matchup was particularly meaningful for the Boozer family, as they reflected on their shared journey in basketball life. Cameron shared that his father's best advice emphasized cherishing every moment, making both triumphs and celebrations like Thanksgiving, priceless.
Both fans and basketball aficionados celebrated Cameron’s impressive athleticism and calm demeanor under pressure, highlighting his potential as a future college basketball star. Duke remains perfect at 8-0 this season, with Cameron at the forefront of their offensive strategy.
Proud of their achievements, Carlos Boozer reminded his sons of the joy found in family and the game itself. The blending of basketball, family, and Thanksgiving painted a vivid picture of their special day, with Cameron and Cayden thriving both in celebration and competition.
With Cameron’s standout display and Duke's strong performance, they are emerging as a force to be reckoned with this season, eagerly facing the collegiate challenges while cherishing the moments they get to share on the court.
