Manchester City produced a commanding 4-1 triumph over Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium, moving to 10 points from four Champions League group fixtures while Dortmund fell to 14th with seven points.
City set the tone early. Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, slotting home after a precise feed from Tijjani Reijnders. Seven minutes later Erling Haaland — who has now netted 27 goals in 17 appearances for club and country — converted a clinical finish following a clever assist from Jeremy Doku.
Foden added his second in the 57th minute with a curling effort, registering his first two-goal game in the Champions League. Guardiola praised the performance, saying "Happy it's not just Erling scoring goals," adding that "Phil was just fantastic."
Dortmund responded through Waldemar Anton, who converted a free kick in the 72nd minute to spark celebration among the travelling fans. City, however, wrapped up the result with a stoppage-time goal by Rayan Cherki.
The visitors were outgunned in key metrics: City registered nine shots on target to Dortmund's one and controlled possession, exploiting wide areas via Doku and Savinho. Savinho came close to an acrobatic volley in the second half that narrowly missed.
Dortmund head coach Niko Kovac conceded City deserved the win, saying "They played a very clean style of football and deserved to win."
Haaland extended his Champions League scoring streak to five consecutive matches, becoming the first player to score in five straight European games for three different clubs — Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg.
Doku highlighted Haaland's broader impact, noting that "He scored just one goal but is so much more than goals and assists. He provides so much and is so important."
