Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, a key institution within the Qatar Foundation, proudly hosted its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026, recognizing 106 graduates from a variety of academic disciplines.
The students earned their degrees in areas such as Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, and General Studies.
During the ceremony, Michael Trick, the dean of CMU-Q, commended the graduates for their resilience and hard work, noting their ability to excel despite facing global challenges. He expressed how their accomplishments exemplify the university's spirit.
Farnam Jahanian, addressing the audience on behalf of the wider Carnegie Mellon community, praised the students for their unwavering commitment amidst uncertainty and geopolitical challenges. He highlighted their empathy and camaraderie as they prioritized their education.
Class representatives Noora Al Kuwari and Zeina Mahmoud shared reflections on their enriching four-year journey, offering gratitude to the university, faculty, and community for their support in overcoming challenges.
The event also featured several awards recognizing remarkable achievements among students and faculty.

Notably, Zeina Rami Halawa and Fatou Sokhna Gueye were celebrated as Andrew Carnegie Society Scholars.
Additionally, Dr. Varun Sharma was honored with the Meritorious Teaching Award for his exceptional contributions to education.
With the recent graduation, CMU-Q’s alumni base has expanded to over 1,500 graduates, who are poised to drive innovation and development in Qatar and beyond.
