Farmers in the Dashoguz Region have successfully completed spring planting of key vegetable crops, including onions, carrots, and cabbage, reinforcing their role in strengthening the agricultural supply chain. Major cultivation has taken place in districts such as Boldumsaz, where large areas have been dedicated to these crops.
According to local agricultural data, onions were planted on 120 hectares, carrots on 70 hectares, and cabbage on 40 hectares in key farming areas. Other districts, including Akdepe, Shavat, and Garashsyzlyk, have also maintained strong production levels, with Garashsyzlyk aiming to lead in total vegetable output across the region.
Across the velayat, more than 2,200 hectares have been allocated for onion cultivation alone this season. Farmers are targeting high yields of at least 250 centners per hectare by following improved agricultural practices, proper crop selection, and efficient water management. Seasonal cultivation strategies also include growing certain crops during both spring and autumn.
The region’s success is attributed to a scientific approach to farming, the use of modern machinery, and the expansion of greenhouse networks. These measures have enabled year-round production of vegetables, ensuring a steady supply of fresh and nutritious produce to the consumer market.
