Dubai, UAE – The Knowledge Fund Establishment (KFE) has reaffirmed its collaboration with Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), committing AED 11 million to the “Dubai Schools” initiative for the academic year 2026–2027.
This represents DIB’s third successive year of involvement, highlighting its dedication to advancing education and supporting national development objectives in Dubai.
The funds will facilitate greater access to affordable, high-quality education for Emirati students and prepare a new generation equipped to contribute meaningfully to essential sectors, thereby bolstering the UAE’s position on the global stage.
This initiative dovetails with critical Dubai strategies such as the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), and the Education 33 Strategy, emphasizing the establishment of an innovative education system that fosters a strong national identity and essential skills for future industries.
Both KFE and DIB have underscored the significance of public-private partnerships in enhancing education and fostering long-lasting social development. This initiative resonates particularly during the UAE’s “Year of the Family,” as it aims to provide Emirati families with superior educational opportunities for their youngsters.
His Excellency Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO of KFE, remarked that this partnership exemplifies successful cooperation between public and private entities. He stressed that such efforts are vital for nurturing a skilled workforce that will drive the nation’s future prosperity.
Obaid Al Shamsi, DIB's Chief Operating Officer, stated that investing in education is fundamental to the future of the nation. He argued that supporting Emirati students is vital for fostering social advancement, economic resilience, and sustainability.
KFE also disclosed plans to further develop the Dubai Schools initiative, with the second phase of the Nad Al Sheba campus expansion set for completion in July. The goal is to accommodate 15,000 students by the 2032–2033 academic year.
Officials noted that continued contributions from the private sector, such as DIB’s, are crucial for expanding the initiative and ensuring a sustainable, quality education system that benefits Emirati students and their families in Dubai.
