Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) has officially inaugurated its 15th group for the accredited training program, “Judicial and Legal Studies for Public Prosecution Members.” This initiative underscores the institute's dedication to nurturing local talent and enhancing the proficiency of future judicial figures in Dubai.

The ceremony drew prestigious attendees, including His Excellency Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of the institute, along with Her Excellency Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi, Director General of DJI, and other top officials from the Public Prosecution.

This cohort consists of 22 nominated Emirati trainees set to embark on their journey within the Public Prosecution. The comprehensive program is structured to deliver an integrated mix of legal and judicial training, emphasizing both academic theory and practical application. Its aim is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competences for effective judicial practice.

During his address, H.E. Counsellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan noted the significance of robust training programs in shaping proficient Public Prosecution members. He highlighted how these initiatives expand legal awareness, foster specialized knowledge, and enhance the capabilities required to undertake judicial duties with confidence.

He further emphasized that such programs align with the aspirations of Dubai’s leadership to empower local talent and solidify the emirate's status as a beacon of global judicial excellence, rule of law, and effective justice. Continuous collaboration among judicial bodies and appreciation for the trainers were also underscored.

H.E. Judge Dr. Ebtessam Ali Al Badwawi remarked that the launch of this cohort showcases the institute’s relentless efforts to bolster specialized training and develop homegrown talent. She stressed the pivotal role this program plays in preparing prospective Public Prosecution members equipped with the necessary legal insight, judicial acumen, and practical expertise.

The advancement of Public Prosecution members is viewed as a strategic investment in the future of justice, with DJI committed to continually refining its training offerings through partnerships with skilled judicial experts. This commitment ensures a high-quality educational journey while maintaining judicial excellence in Dubai.

This six-month training program consists of 450 hours, equating to 30 credit hours within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The curriculum merges theoretical studies with practical training, incorporating specialized criminal laws to prepare participants for the future challenges of judicial duties.

In a further celebration of excellence, DJI acknowledged the trainers of the preceding 14th cohort under the theme “Pioneers of Training Excellence: A Lasting Impact.” This tribute recognized their unwavering dedication to educating Public Prosecution members and passing down critical judicial knowledge to the next generation of Emirati professionals.

Through its recognized training programs, the Dubai Judicial Institute fortifies its status as an elite judicial training establishment. The institute is committed to fostering advanced educational opportunities rooted in global best practices, cultivating skilled legal and judicial professionals who serve justice and enhance Dubai’s reputation as a leader in judicial excellence.
