Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has recently launched an exciting new initiative called the Emirati Music Education Programme. This programme aims to find and develop young Emirati musicians aged 5 to 18, offering them advanced training in classical music performance.
The programme is in partnership with The National Youth Orchestra – Dubai (NYO Dubai) and is designed to enrich the cultural and creative scene in Dubai. By training young musicians, the initiative hopes to bring new energy to the arts sector, support its growth, and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global centre for creative economy.
Supported by the Dubai Cultural Grant, the programme provides structured training in music history, theory, and classical performance practices. Students will learn to play string and wind instruments, take part in choral singing and ensemble performances, and attend workshops conducted by experienced faculty from the National Youth Orchestra.
Dubai Culture encourages young Emirati talents to register for the programme through the National Youth Orchestra’s website. Applicants will go through an admissions test to check their musical skills before joining the programme. This ensures that every student receives training that matches their ability and potential.
The Emirati Music Education Programme represents a significant step in promoting arts education and providing opportunities for the next generation of musicians. It not only helps students develop their talents but also contributes to Dubai’s vision of becoming a hub for culture and creativity.
By investing in young artists, Dubai is creating a strong foundation for its future creative community. The programme promises to inspire children and teenagers to pursue music seriously, learn from skilled professionals, and contribute to the city’s rich cultural landscape.
Overall, this initiative is a positive and forward-thinking effort to nurture talent, celebrate Emirati culture, and encourage the arts among young generations. Parents and aspiring musicians are urged to apply and be part of this unique opportunity to grow, learn, and shine in the world of music.
