The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has made significant enhancements to its Technology Operation Control Centre (TOCC) to elevate smart services and boost operational efficiency while ensuring robust cybersecurity throughout Dubai's transport network.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, indicated that the authority is committed to advancing its digital and technological framework, aligning with Dubai's ambitious goal to become the world’s leading smart city.
During a tour of the TOCC, Al Tayer emphasized the RTA's ongoing integration of cutting-edge digital technologies and AI applications aimed at refining operational efficiency and supporting Dubai's aspirations for improved smart mobility and digital advancements.
He noted that investing in advanced technological infrastructure is critical for sustaining services, enhancing quality of life, and providing a superior customer experience.
The TOCC serves as a comprehensive command hub that oversees and manages RTA’s technical systems and digital services round-the-clock. This center operates within a cohesive framework aimed at continuous monitoring, technical assistance, and ensuring business continuity while upholding high standards of readiness and service quality.
Al Tayer explained that digital transformation has evolved into an integrated network relying on intelligent data analysis, proactive operational monitoring, and expedited decision-making processes. These advancements bolster operational resilience and guarantee uninterrupted services across RTA's sectors.
While visiting, Al Tayer assessed the centre’s smart systems responsible for overseeing digital infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols, along with operational workflows designed to deliver uninterrupted 24/7 services.
The centre houses specialized operational units such as the IT Support Centre, which offers around-the-clock technical assistance, and the Operations Monitoring Centre, tasked with tracking system performance and promptly identifying technical issues.
Dedicated technical teams manage and operate various systems to assure full integration and continuous readiness of the technological infrastructure.
According to RTA, the upgraded TOCC can effectively operate and oversee over 200 server-hosting units across various data centres while managing more than 500 support requests daily due to its continuous monitoring framework.
These enhancements are set to bolster the reliability of digital systems, elevate operational efficiency, and reinforce business continuity across RTA’s services.
Additionally, RTA announced that the centre has recently achieved the prestigious international Tier III classification, a gold standard for gauging data centre reliability, operational effectiveness, and continuity of services.
