UAE Hosts Ninth Edition of Arabian Horse Global Cup in Stunning Verona

Post by : Maya Rahman

The latest round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) was recently held in Verona, Italy, marking the second edition's penultimate event. Located at the prestigious VeronaFiere Exhibition Centre, this championship celebrated the majestic beauty of Arabian horses while reinforcing the UAE's enduring commitment to their cultural significance.

This notable event saw attendance from UAE Ambassador to Italy, Abdullah Ali Al Saboosi, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS). Their participation in the winners' ceremony alongside numerous Italian dignitaries showcased the UAE's pivotal role in promoting Arabian equestrian traditions on an international scale.

Featuring 98 exceptional horses from around 72 owners, the competition unfolded across various categories, including yearling fillies and colts, as well as senior mares and stallions. The two-day event culminated in fierce qualifying rounds before the final awards were presented, with standout horses receiving prestigious gold medals.

Among the winners, “Pavala RA” captured gold in the Yearling Fillies Championship, owned by Czeslaw. Meanwhile, in the Junior Fillies Championship, “Sana OS,” owned by Lubochnia Arabians, took home the top honors. In the Senior Mares category, “Siena Del Palazzo,” owned by Cannata Giuseppe Antonio, also triumphed, all exemplifying the unmatched elegance and power characteristic of Arabian horses.

The male divisions showcased intense competitive spirit, with “Tofaan Sweetat” winning gold for Mg Arabians S.N.C. in the Yearling Colts Championship. Additionally, “STY Elijah” shone in the Junior Colts Championship, while “Jasmin Z” emerged victorious in the Senior Stallions Championship, representing owner Angelo Pasi. These achievements highlight the unwavering dedication of owners and breeders to preserving Arabian bloodlines.

The Emirates Arabian Horse Society emphasized the significance of this European stage of the Global Cup, enhancing its international prestige and fostering appreciation for Arabian horses worldwide. This leg not only underscores the UAE's leadership in equestrian culture but also serves as a cultural bridge connecting enthusiasts from across the globe.

Beyond a series of competitions, the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup embodies a cultural initiative celebrating Arabian horse heritage. It encourages values of pride and discipline, inspiring global participation and ensuring the Arabian horse remains a symbol of beauty and endurance.

As the second edition wraps up, the final round is set to take place next month in Kuwait. This concluding event caps off a remarkable journey across ten countries over multiple continents, highlighting the UAE's steadfast resolve in promoting authentic Arab heritage and strengthening international bonds through equestrian excellence.

Coinciding with the prestigious Fieracavalli Exhibition—one of the oldest equestrian events globally—the Verona leg further elevated the profile of the Global Cup. This exhibition attracts over 700 exhibitors from 25 nations, showcasing horse breeding and equine equipment, among other sectors. Integrating the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup within this renowned event accentuates the UAE's growing influence in the global equestrian domain.

The Verona event reiterates the UAE's vital role in championing equestrian sports worldwide. Through the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup, the UAE continues to uphold its cultural legacy and inspire future generations to foster a deep appreciation for horses. With the final leg on the horizon, the vision of uniting nations through the admiration of Arabian horses grows ever stronger.
