The Emirates Championship for Arabian horses came to an exciting close on Friday evening after four days of lively competition at the Butheeb Equestrian Academy. Hosted by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), this prestigious event drew in participants from all corners of the UAE, with a remarkable 421 horses representing 216 owners. Breeders showcased their finest animals, providing a thrilling experience for both judges and spectators alike.
The championship kicked off its final day with a spotlight on the Yearling Fillies category, displaying young female horses where Sultana BHM from Bin Humaila Stud took home the gold medal. The silver medal was awarded to Balkis Al Noor from Al Noor Stud, while Falheh Al Hawajer, owned by Ghanem Al Hajeri, claimed bronze. Judges highlighted the remarkable quality and charm of these young fillies.
Next came the Junior Fillies Championship, featuring older female horses. Sheikha Alyah, owned by Mohammed Abdullatif Al Ali, triumphed with a gold medal, while Lillian Alsaad and Haya Al Fahaid took silver and bronze, respectively. The audience was captivated by the grace and movement displayed by these horses.
In the Senior Mares category, which showcased the most seasoned female horses, J.M.H Hajer, owned by Juma Al Shemeili, won gold. MZ Rafigah, representing Khalifa Al Noaimi, secured silver, and bronze went to Roaah Mughaider, owned by Rashid Saif Al Zaabi. These senior mares impressed everyone with their poise and strength in the arena.
The Yearling Colts Championship saw young male horses in action where JS Romeo, owned by Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Baydaei, took the gold. The silver medal was captured by Lahoob TH from Al Thuraya Stud, while Gharbi Alyah, owned by Hamad Ahmed Abdullatif Al Ali, earned bronze, signaling promising potential for future breeding.
One of the event’s most competitive sections was the Junior Colts Championship, which concluded with A L A Sinjar winning gold for owner Mohammed Buti Alabduli. Sarab BHM from Bin Humaila Stud took silver, while bronze went to Dahim Al Jawaher from Al Jawaher Stud, showcasing the emerging talent in the younger categories.
The championship ended with the Senior Stallions category. Ramz Alyah, owned by Mohammed Ahmed Abdullatif Al Ali, claimed the gold, with JS Al Sultan from Al Jawaher Stud taking silver and Ghanem Al Hajeri's Falah Al Hawajer receiving bronze. Cheers erupted from the audience as the event wound down with triumphant winners.
In addition to the main championship, the Arab Breeders Championship kicked off on Friday afternoon at the same venue, featuring 103 horses from around 57 owners. The opening day focused on Yearling Fillies in Sections A and B, followed by Junior Fillies for two- and three-year-olds. Older mares and Yearling Colts also had their moments to shine on the first day.
The next day promises additional action, featuring Junior Colts in Sections A and B, followed by the Stallions competition for horses aged four and over. The thrilling finale will present six major finals, including Yearling Fillies, Yearling Colts, Junior Fillies, Junior Colts, Senior Mares, and Senior Stallions championships. Expectations are high for strong participation and fervent excitement among enthusiasts.
