The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has unveiled essential statistics for its “Winter Ghiras 2025”, themed “Planting Values, Illuminating the Future.” This program targets girls between 7 and 16 years old and takes place from December 8 to December 18, 2025, across seven locations in Dubai.
Part of the Department’s strategic goal, “Closer to the Community,” this initiative aims to broaden educational outreach and enhance community engagement within the emirate. This year features an innovative format for Winter Ghiras, echoing the cultural identity and social values of the UAE while capturing the eagerly awaited winter season.
Through this program, Dubai Islamic Affairs intends to equip the youth to welcome winter with positivity and strong ethical values. It creatively fuses education, entertainment, and practical activities, reinforcing religious awareness and genuine Islamic principles through modern teaching methods.
Official statistics reveal that over 763 participants have already benefited from this initiative, led by 43 skilled instructors supported by 64 dedicated volunteers. Activities spanned 29 educational classes, encompassing 188 interactive workshops with a total of 497 teaching hours, demonstrating the Department’s commitment to delivering high-quality educational content and sustainable community impact.
Ms. Sheikha Sultan Al Marri, Director of the Islamic Knowledge Programs Department and the Winter Ghiras initiative head, remarked that these results signify growing community trust in the program. She highlighted the initiative's focus on enhancing religious understanding, behavioral skills, and faith-based values through contemporary educational techniques, aiming for measurable and lasting outcomes.
Furthermore, Winter Ghiras exemplifies a model seasonal educational program that adeptly merges educational goals with volunteer activities during school holidays, aligning with the UAE leadership’s vision to invest in people and forge knowledgeable, values-oriented generations.
