Etihad Airways is stepping up its operations across its network in response to a surge in passenger demand. The airline will enhance flight frequencies to Brussels and Kraków, transition its Abu Dhabi-Dhaka route to a year-round service, and prolong its seasonal offerings to Zanzibar and Palma de Mallorca.
These adjustments come as interest in travel keeps rising across various segments. The airline emphasizes that route capacity is being boosted where the demand is the highest.
The Abu Dhabi-Dhaka service, which was launched on 26 June, will continue yearlong after its inaugural flight reached full capacity. This route operates four times a week using a Boeing 777, featuring 28 Business Class seats and 374 Economy Class seats. It caters to the significant Bangladeshi population in the UAE and facilitates trade with robust belly-hold cargo options between the two nations.
Additionally, the seasonal route from Abu Dhabi to Zanzibar has been extended until 31 March 2027, following sustained high demand for this Indian Ocean destination.
The Abu Dhabi-Palma de Mallorca route, featuring the Airbus A321LR, will also continue service until 18 October 2026, allowing travelers an extended timeframe to explore the Spanish island.
Furthermore, flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Kraków will increase from three to four times weekly from 27 July 2026, also serviced by the Airbus A321LR, linking the UAE with southern Poland.
In another development, the frequency of flights between Abu Dhabi and Brussels will rise from seven to 11 weekly services starting on 15 December 2026. The additional flights will utilize a three-cabin Airbus A321LR, offering options for First, Business, and Economy Class.
Arik De, Chief Revenue & Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, stated that stronger-than-anticipated demand has been recorded across various key routes, including Brussels, Dhaka, Kraków, Zanzibar, and Palma. The airline aims to cater to this demand through capacity increases, noting that these moves will not only attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi but also enhance connections throughout Etihad’s growing international network.
