Post by : Maya Rahman

Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, the much-anticipated 2025 Fujairah Equestrian Championships will commence on November 21st. Kicking off this year's event will be the Fujairah International Jumping Championship, hosted at the iconic Fujairah Fort arena. Known for its exceptional standards and global participation, this championship stands out as a premier equestrian event both regionally and internationally.

Scheduled from November 12th to 23rd, this year’s championship invites riders from across the UAE, the Gulf region, and various international locales. An estimated 200 competitors representing 27 nations are expected, including notable equestrian strongholds like France, Germany, the USA, the UK, and Saudi Arabia. Such extensive participation showcases the growing global enthusiasm for equestrian sports in Fujairah.

All competitions adhere to the guidelines set by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). The jumping courses aim to showcase the riders’ skills, speed, and precision as they navigate through elaborate obstacles, ensuring a world-class event that aligns with international benchmarks.

At a recent press conference held at the Fujairah Fort arena, the Higher Organising Committee announced that preparations for the championship are complete. They emphasized that this edition signifies the opening of the annual Fujairah Equestrian Championships, which continue to expand in scope and appeal. The organizers voiced their dedication to executing a superbly managed championship that embodies the emirate’s deep-rooted equestrian traditions.

During the press conference, Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, highlighted the vital support from H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi. He explained that the championship aligns with the Crown Prince’s vision for fostering equestrian sports in Fujairah and enhancing the emirate's status in the global equestrian scene. Dr. Al Zeyoudi mentioned that the event offers riders and horse owners a chance to compete alongside some of the finest Arabian and international horse breeds, reflecting the cultural significance of horses in Emirati and Arab heritage, where equestrianism symbolizes strength, beauty, and tradition.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi also expressed gratitude to the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, along with organizing partners, sponsors, and media representatives whose contributions facilitate the event's success. This support guarantees robust participation and elevates the visibility of the championships on both national and international platforms.

Ali Musbah Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, commended the longstanding success of the Fujairah International Jumping Championship, noting its growing attractiveness to riders from across the Arab world and beyond. He stated that this international participation reinforces Fujairah's role as a pivotal equestrian hub, both regionally and globally. The event is a testament to the emirate’s commitment to hosting top-tier sports competitions that inspire excellence and attract elite talent.

Concluding the press conference, the Higher Organising Committee reaffirmed their dedication to providing a safe, organized, and supportive atmosphere for all participants. Their mission is to help riders achieve exceptional performance while honoring the values and traditions of equestrian sports in Fujairah. They also underscored the significance of preserving the cultural heritage associated with horses in the UAE, a hallmark of the nation’s identity.

The forthcoming 2025 Fujairah Equestrian Championships are poised to deliver an exhilarating experience for riders, visitors, and spectators, illustrating the emirate’s commitment to sports, culture, and international collaboration.
