GDRFA Dubai Cracks Down on Illegal Online Visa Services

GDRFA Dubai Cracks Down on Illegal Online Visa Services

Post by : Shakul

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai has taken strict action against individuals and entities promoting unauthorised visa and residency services through social media platforms. The move is aimed at protecting residents and visitors from fraudulent offers and ensuring that immigration services are obtained only through approved government channels.

Officials said the crackdown was led by the Investigation and Follow-up Department within the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of Dubai's immigration system.

Authorities Warn Against Fraudulent Offers

GDRFA Dubai stated that specialised teams continuously monitor online activities that may mislead the public or exploit people seeking visa and residency services. Following reports of suspicious online advertisements, authorities launched investigations and verified that several entities were promoting services without proper authorisation.

Officials warned that dealing with such providers could expose individuals to financial losses, misinformation and legal complications.

Customer Protection Remains Top Priority

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said protecting customers and maintaining trust in government services remain key priorities. He emphasized that all visa and residency procedures should be completed through official and approved channels.

He added that tackling unauthorised activities helps safeguard customer rights while supporting Dubai's vision of providing reliable and advanced digital government services.

Investigations Led to Immediate Action

Major General Dr. Ali bin Ajif Al Zaabi, Assistant Director General of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector, said authorities acted immediately after identifying suspicious online activities.

According to officials, investigations confirmed that certain groups were advertising visa and residency services without approval. The authorities coordinated with relevant agencies and implemented legal measures against those found violating regulations.

Public Urged to Verify Service Providers

GDRFA Dubai advised residents and visitors to verify the authenticity of service providers before sharing personal information or making payments. Authorities stressed the importance of using official government platforms and approved service centers for all immigration-related transactions.

The department also urged people to avoid offers circulating on social media that promise quick or guaranteed visa approvals.

Community Cooperation Essential

Officials highlighted that public awareness is one of the strongest tools in combating fraud and protecting the integrity of the immigration system. Residents were encouraged to report suspicious activities or illegal visa advertisements to the relevant authorities.

GDRFA Dubai said community cooperation plays a vital role in creating a secure and trusted government service environment for everyone.

Commitment to a Secure Immigration System

The latest action reflects Dubai's commitment to maintaining transparency and protecting individuals from fraudulent immigration practices. Authorities reaffirmed that they will continue monitoring violations and taking strict action against anyone attempting to exploit residents or visitors through illegal visa-related services.
