Heavy rains and unstable weather conditions have swept across the United Arab Emirates, prompting authorities to issue safety advisories, traffic updates, and travel warnings. Residents across cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah experienced thunderstorms, strong winds, and a noticeable drop in temperatures, with officials urging the public to remain cautious.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, rainfall of varying intensity is expected to continue across several regions, particularly in northern and eastern areas, with intermittent showers forecast into the following day. Authorities have advised residents to rely only on official sources for updates and avoid unnecessary travel during severe conditions.
Traffic Disruptions and Safety Measures
Heavy rainfall led to temporary road closures and disruptions. Authorities confirmed that key routes, including roads in Al Dhaid, were shut due to water flow but later reopened after conditions improved. Police departments across emirates have urged drivers to maintain safe distances, avoid flood-prone areas, and stay alert to changing road conditions.
Emergency and municipal teams, including those in Ajman, have been operating round-the-clock to manage water accumulation and ensure public safety. Residents have also been warned to stay away from valleys, dams, and areas with standing water.
Airport and Travel Advisories
Air travel has also been affected, with Fujairah International Airport advising passengers to check flight schedules before heading to the airport due to potential delays. Authorities in Abu Dhabi have also urged delivery riders and motorists to suspend or limit travel during periods of intense weather to reduce risks.
Public Warnings and Weather Outlook
Government agencies, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, have issued safety guidelines for farmers and residents to protect life and property. Drivers have been advised to avoid areas with falling debris risks and to report water accumulation.
The unstable weather is expected to persist through the week, with continued rainfall, cloudy skies, and occasional sunshine intervals. Authorities continue to stress the importance of caution, preparedness, and adherence to official advisories as the situation evolves.
