The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that it remains unable to inspect several Iranian nuclear facilities affected by last year’s conflict, raising fresh concerns about transparency and monitoring within Iran’s nuclear program. The findings were outlined in a confidential report circulated among member states of the United Nations nuclear watchdog.
According to the report, inspectors have been unable to verify the current status of Iran’s nuclear activities, including the size, composition, and location of its stockpile of enriched uranium. The agency stated that it currently lacks sufficient access and information to independently assess whether Iran has suspended enrichment-related operations.
The IAEA warned that these restrictions prevent it from fully carrying out its responsibilities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty safeguards agreement. The agency emphasized that regular inspections and verification measures are essential to maintaining international confidence in the peaceful nature of nuclear programs.
The report comes amid continuing geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear activities. International observers have closely monitored developments following military confrontations in the region that reportedly affected several strategic facilities and complicated the work of international inspectors.
Without direct access to the sites, the agency says it cannot provide an accurate assessment of Iran’s nuclear inventory or confirm compliance with international obligations. This uncertainty has intensified concerns among global powers regarding the future direction of Tehran’s nuclear program.
Nuclear experts note that transparency and independent verification remain crucial for reducing tensions and preventing misunderstandings. The inability of inspectors to access facilities could complicate diplomatic efforts aimed at maintaining stability and rebuilding confidence among international stakeholders.
The latest report is expected to be discussed by IAEA member states and could become a key issue in future diplomatic negotiations involving Iran and major world powers. As international attention remains focused on nuclear security, the agency continues to call for full cooperation and unrestricted access to relevant facilities.
