IKN Authority Strengthens Local Businesses to Support Nusantara Capital Development

IKN Authority Strengthens Local Businesses to Support Nusantara Capital Development

Post by : Shakul

Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan — The authority overseeing Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is intensifying efforts to empower local businesses as part of a broader plan to build a sustainable economic ecosystem around Indonesia’s future capital. The IKN area spans parts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara districts in East Kalimantan.

Officials said the initiative is designed to ensure that residents living near the new capital play an active role in its economic growth. Programs focus on improving business skills, expanding market access, and encouraging long-term sustainability so local entrepreneurs can participate meaningfully in the region’s transformation.

The authority is conducting intensive workshops, interactive discussions, and hands-on training sessions covering branding, product development, packaging design, and modern sales techniques. Local businesses also receive assistance with packaging production and intellectual property registration in line with national regulations.

To further strengthen community participation, the IKN Authority is promoting creative economy development through the “Creative Business Marketing Packaging Profitable” (KUMPUL Lagi) program. The initiative builds on earlier cooperation with the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and adopts a more adaptive approach tailored to the needs of businesses around the new capital.

Officials say continuous capacity-building efforts are expected to help local enterprises grow alongside the development of the Nusantara capital, ensuring inclusive economic progress for surrounding communities.
