Imran Khan Alleges Pressure via Bushra Bibi

Imran Khan Alleges Pressure via Bushra Bibi

Post by : Shakul

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has alleged that his wife Bushra Bibi is being subjected to harsh conditions in prison in an attempt to pressure him into submission. The claims have sparked renewed debate over the country’s legal system and treatment of political figures.

According to statements shared by Khan’s sister Aleema Khanum, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being held in solitary confinement under what she described as “inhumane conditions.” She accused authorities of deliberately delaying bail hearings, suggesting that the legal process is being manipulated.

Khan’s legal team has claimed that Bushra Bibi is being kept in complete isolation to mentally and emotionally weaken her. The alleged strategy, according to Khan, is aimed at forcing him to compromise or submit to judicial pressure, something he has strongly rejected.

Imran Khan has reiterated his stance of resistance, reportedly stating that he would not accept any deal under pressure. He emphasized that while he can endure the situation, his wife is being targeted to indirectly influence his decisions, calling the approach “deliberate and calculated.”

The controversy adds to a series of allegations made by Khan and his supporters against Pakistan’s judiciary and government. His family has also accused key officials, including military leadership, of orchestrating a broader campaign against him since his imprisonment.

Khan, who has been in jail since August 2023 following multiple convictions, maintains that the charges against him are politically motivated. Reports also suggest that his health has deteriorated during incarceration, further intensifying concerns among his supporters.

Overall, the situation highlights ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, with questions being raised about judicial independence, human rights, and the treatment of opposition leaders amid a highly polarized environment.
