India and the United States are having important talks to make a new trade deal. Both countries want to finish the first part of this agreement before July 9. The main goal is to help businesses in both countries by making it easier to buy and sell goods. India is asking the US to remove extra taxes on things like leather and textiles, which will help Indian workers and companies. The US and India have already finished some meetings, and both sides say the talks are going well.
India wants to make sure its farmers and dairy industry are protected in the deal. The government is also asking the US to permanently remove a 26% tax on some Indian goods. Right now, this tax is paused, but India wants it gone for good. Leaders from both countries say the agreement will be good for everyone and help both nations grow their trade. If the deal is signed, it will make it easier for Indian products to reach American customers and for American goods to come to India. The final decision is expected soon, before the July 9 deadline.
