Revamped Abu Dhabi Award Model Launched to Elevate Government Excellence

Revamped Abu Dhabi Award Model Launched to Elevate Government Excellence

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Under the auspices of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, there has been a formal launch of a modernized model for the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP).

This new initiative seeks to foster a culture of excellence and innovation across government departments, promoting collaboration and integration within a streamlined governmental framework that prioritizes sustainable growth and improved living conditions for the populace.

The redesigned ADAEP model incorporates a thorough, multi-phase evaluation process, meticulously scrutinizing the initiatives, projects, and programs of participating organizations. This structured methodology guarantees transparency and cements the award's significance as a vital avenue for enhancing institutional performance and public sector achievement.

Leveraging years of expertise and research, this model allows government agencies to elevate their operational benchmarks. It advocates for the use of cutting-edge technologies while fostering a cooperative atmosphere aimed at yielding positive community impacts in the long run.

In alignment with Abu Dhabi's digital transformation aspirations, the latest ADAEP cycle employs artificial intelligence throughout its evaluation phases. This encompasses innovative tools like the AI Consultant, AI Juror, and AI Grand Jury Assistant, which ensure precise data analysis and objective insights for informed decision-making.

Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince, stressed that the pursuit of excellence is a fundamental aspect of Abu Dhabi’s governance approach. He noted that this award framework advocates accountability and fosters continuous enhancement while strengthening collaboration among government bodies to deliver substantial societal benefits.

Presently, 37 government entities and 103 initiatives are undergoing evaluation by over 90 local and global experts, with a distinguished grand jury from both public and private sectors managing the final selection.

The awards comprise two primary categories with six distinct sections: three accolades for top-performing entities and three initiative-focused awards that acknowledge strategic impact, digital innovation, AI application, and contributions to community and family welfare.

The selection process employs a multi-layered evaluation framework commencing with independent assessments enriched by AI tools, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Subsequently, quality assurance teams and evaluation committees review the outcomes before they receive the grand jury's final endorsement, guaranteeing a fair and inclusive appraisal.

The ADAEP award ceremony will take place in April 2026, where laureates will be celebrated for their significant contributions to advancing Abu Dhabi’s governmental framework and public service excellence.
