Italian authorities have seized assets worth around €20 million in connection with an alleged fraud case involving Swiss actress Ursula Andress, best known for her iconic role in the James Bond film Dr. No. The operation was carried out by Italy’s financial police as part of a wider investigation into financial crimes.
According to officials, the seized assets include a luxury estate in the Tuscan countryside near Florence, complete with vineyards and olive groves, along with valuable artworks and financial holdings. Authorities believe these assets are linked to funds that were fraudulently obtained from the actress through complex financial dealings.
The investigation began after Andress filed a complaint in Switzerland, alleging that individuals managing her finances had engaged in opaque and suspicious transactions. Cross-border cooperation between Swiss and Italian authorities later uncovered strong links to financial activities based in Italy.
Police have described the case as involving money laundering and self-laundering, with significant evidence pointing to illegal movement of funds through multiple channels. The Tuscany region, particularly areas near Florence, emerged as a key location in the investigation.
Ursula Andress, who rose to fame in the 1960s and recently turned 90, is regarded as one of the most iconic figures of early Hollywood. The case highlights ongoing risks of financial exploitation faced even by high-profile individuals, especially in complex wealth management arrangements.
