The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal will resume its healthcare services, including emergency operations, on June 16, 2025. This comes after the institute was temporarily closed due to severe flooding that began on June 2, 2025.

The institute has assured the public that efforts to restore all services are underway. Routine surgeries, also known as Routine OT, will begin again shortly. Academic activities will also resume on the same day, including regular classes for MBBS and BDS students, as well as postgraduate trainees.

The flooding had led to a temporary suspension of both healthcare and academic services. The administration has expressed heartfelt thanks to all the staff, students, and stakeholders who worked tirelessly to help during this challenging period.

JNIMS plays an essential role in providing healthcare and medical education in the region. The resumption of these services is a major step in bringing the institute back to normal, ensuring that the community continues to receive the care it needs. The administration remains committed to maintaining the highest standards in healthcare and education.

As the institution prepares to reopen, the efforts and resilience of the JNIMS community have been crucial in overcoming the challenges caused by the flooding. The administration has also expressed deep appreciation for the collective support during the recovery phase.
