The Dubai Community Contributions Establishment, known as JOOD, has shared its remarkable achievements for the first quarter of 2026, showcasing a rise in community involvement and charitable contributions across the emirate.
In the first quarter, JOOD reported contributions exceeding AED 63 million, amassed through more than 1,500 individual donations alongside over 30 community-driven initiatives. This surge in activity indicates a growing public trust in JOOD’s transparent approach to charitable giving.
JOOD has broadened its efforts in critical areas such as healthcare, housing, and broader social development, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life and social welfare in Dubai.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, who serves as Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Chairperson of JOOD’s Board, stated that these figures indicate the evolving landscape of community philanthropy in Dubai, alongside increasing confidence in institutional charity work.
She emphasized that the notable rise in contributions points to a heightened understanding of strategic philanthropy and its significance in fostering sustainable social progress. She further mentioned JOOD's ongoing efforts to enhance its digital infrastructure and partnerships, aiming to streamline contributions and align them more effectively with community necessities.
Her Excellency highlighted that JOOD is working to establish Dubai as a global benchmark for sustainable community growth and impactful philanthropy.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai and Vice Chairperson of JOOD's Board, noted that during the “Year of Family,” the emphasis lies on initiatives that foster donation, unity, and social harmony.
JOOD CEO His Excellency Marwan Rashid bin Hashim asserted that the platform remains committed to enhancing Dubai’s philanthropic landscape by collaborating with both public and private sectors. He expressed a desire to innovate initiatives and boost private sector involvement for lasting benefits.
Looking ahead, JOOD plans to convene its second Board of Trustees meeting in Q2 2026 to evaluate Q1 results and outline future strategies. The platform will also host a specialized philanthropy workshop featuring over 50 key decision-makers from the public and private sectors to foster conversation and improve sustainable giving methodologies in Dubai.
