Kyrgyzstan has officially opened the “Altyn Logistics” international logistics center in the city of Balykchy as part of its broader strategy to strengthen regional trade and transport connectivity. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev attended the inauguration ceremony and described the project as a major step toward boosting the country’s transit and logistics potential.
Speaking during the ceremony in the Issyk-Kul region, Adylbek Kasymaliev said Kyrgyzstan’s strategic location at the crossroads of international transport routes gives the country strong opportunities to become a key logistics hub in Central Asia. He emphasized that the new logistics center is positioned along an important section of the historic Great Silk Road.
According to officials, the “Altyn Logistics” center is expected to serve as a major transport connection point linking China, Central Asian countries, and members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Authorities believe the project will help increase regional trade flows, improve cargo transportation efficiency, and strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s position in the international logistics sector.
The logistics complex has been developed by Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and covers an area of 5.5 hectares. The facility includes modern transport and storage infrastructure designed to support safe and efficient cargo handling operations. Officials stated that the center has the capacity to process up to 200 trucks per day.
Government representatives also highlighted the economic benefits expected from the project. More than 80 new jobs have already been created through the development of the logistics hub, providing new employment opportunities for residents in the region and supporting local economic growth.
During his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev praised the expanding role of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC beyond the mining industry. He noted that the company has increasingly invested in logistics, infrastructure, and development projects while maintaining strong financial performance. According to officials, Kyrgyzaltyn contributed more than 18.7 billion soms to the state budget by the end of 2025.
Authorities believe the opening of the logistics center reflects Kyrgyzstan’s long-term ambition to become an important transport and trade gateway connecting Asia and regional markets. Officials also stated that improving infrastructure and expanding logistics capacity remain key priorities for supporting economic development and international investment.
The government expressed confidence that the “Altyn Logistics” center will strengthen trade partnerships, increase transit cargo traffic, and create new opportunities for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and neighboring countries in the coming years.
