Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit has come under fire following reports that she arrived nearly three hours late to a scheduled appearance during her Canadian tour. Hundreds of ticket-holders said the delay sparked frustration, with many taking to social media to criticise what they called chaotic organisation and a lack of clear communication.
Promotional material listed a 7:30 pm start, but multiple spectators say proceedings did not commence until about 10 pm. Clips shared online show Dixit briefly on stage; one video includes overlaid text urging viewers, “If I could give you one piece of advice, it’s to not attend the Madhuri Dixit tour... save your money.”
Several attendees labelled the evening “a waste of time” and “poorly organised,” and some left the venue in protest, demanding refunds. One spectator wrote that the show’s advertising failed to indicate the appearance would consist largely of brief chat segments and only snippets of songs.
“Three hours late and then full of lame talks. Least worried about the audience’s time,” another disgruntled attendee commented, while others pointed to ticket descriptions they say were misleading about the length and nature of the performance.
At the same time, a number of fans defended Dixit, suggesting the problems were logistical rather than artistic and praising her conduct on stage. “She seems to be performing as graciously as always! It may be a production issue,” one supporter said.
Some audience members have discussed lodging complaints with local consumer protection bodies over possible misrepresentation. To date, neither Madhuri Dixit nor her representatives have released an official statement regarding the incident.
