Malaysia to Deport Any Israeli Found in Country: PM Anwar

Malaysia to Deport Any Israeli Found in Country: PM Anwar

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Malaysia will immediately deport any Israeli national found in the country, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Wednesday, as authorities investigate allegations that an Israeli citizen may have been involved in the operations of a private residential community in the southern state of Johor.

Speaking on the matter, Anwar said the relevant government agencies are examining the allegations. He stressed that the government would not compromise if the claims are confirmed. "If we find any Israeli, we will deport them immediately because we do not recognize Israel," Anwar said, according to the English-language daily Free Malaysia Today.

Investigation Underway Into Johor Community Allegations

The investigation follows allegations involving Network School, a startup community operating in Johor. In response, Malaysia's Home Ministry launched a formal investigation after the Johor state government requested a federal-level probe into the matter.

Authorities are currently reviewing the claims to determine whether any laws or immigration rules have been violated.

Malaysia Maintains Entry Restrictions on Israeli Passport Holders

Malaysia does not recognize Israel, and Israeli passport holders are generally not allowed to enter the country unless they receive special approval from the Malaysian authorities.

Prime Minister Anwar reiterated the government's position, making it clear that any confirmed presence of an Israeli national in violation of the country's policies would result in immediate deportation.

Immigration Department Inspects Foreign Residents

In a separate development on Wednesday, Malaysia's Immigration Department announced that it had inspected 266 foreign nationals living in an international community in Forest City.

According to the department, all 266 individuals were found to possess valid immigration documents, and no immigration-related violations were identified during the inspection.
