Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Israel on February 25, 2026 for a two-day state visit, marking an important milestone in India-Israel relations. This visit will see him become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset.
Modi was welcomed in Tel Aviv and is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he will hold high-level talks on defence, technology, trade, innovation, and regional security cooperation.
The agenda of the visit includes Modi’s address to the Israeli Parliament, discussions on expanding the strategic partnership, and signing key agreements especially in areas like defence and science cooperation.
Ahead of the visit, Modi said that the relationship between India and Israel is strong and multifaceted, and he looks forward to advancing common goals in peace, innovation, and global cooperation.
The visit also comes at a time of heightened geopolitical focus, and some political debate has arisen around the Knesset session due to protocol disputes involving Israeli opposition parties.
This is Modi’s second official state visit to Israel, the first being in 2017, which established the strategic partnership between the two countries.
