Mouza Nasser Al Shamsi, a prominent chess player from the UAE, has made a groundbreaking achievement at the World Amateur Individual Chess Championship. This prestigious event took place in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, from November 5 to 13, attracting top talents from around the globe. Representing her country, Al Shamsi showcased remarkable skill in the Women’s 1700-rating category.
Facing intense competition, Al Shamsi went up against some of the best players from various nations, including seasoned competitors from Kazakhstan and India. Her strategic planning and consistent performance led her to the championship rounds, culminating in a critical match against a competitor from Kazakhstan.
In an impressive final round, Al Shamsi emerged victorious, claiming the top spot in her category. India secured the third position in the Women’s 1700-rating segment, emphasizing the high-caliber competition present. The Al Ain Chess & Mind Games Club, which supports Al Shamsi, commemorated her achievement as a historic milestone.
