Jhonatan Narváez showcased an incredible performance for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, seizing victory in Stage 11 of the Giro d’Italia on Wednesday. The Ecuadorian national champion marked the Emirati team’s fourth stage win in this year's competition after expertly navigating the hilly terrain between Tuscany and Liguria.
Throughout the stage, Narváez displayed remarkable resilience, fending off serious challenges from Enric Mas of Movistar Team during an exhilarating two-man sprint finish. Mas secured second place following a fierce contest for the win.
Initially, Narváez and his teammates missed earlier breakaway attempts that could have influenced the stage's outcome. Nevertheless, UAE Team Emirates-XRG regrouped effectively, working in unison to bring the 29-year-old rider into contention with the leading pack.
This victory underscores UAE Team Emirates-XRG's standout performance at the Giro d’Italia 2026, marking four stage wins in the first eleven days of the event.
In the overall standings after Stage 11, Afonso Eulálio from Bahrain Victorious maintains the lead with a total time of 44:17:41. Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike follows in second, 27 seconds behind, while Thymen Arensman of Netcompany Ineos is in third place at 1 minute and 57 seconds back.
