Nepal Chased 52-Run Target in Malaysia Sets Semi Final Challenge

Post by : Rameen Ariff

In an exciting semifinal clash of the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup Cricket Tournament in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia has set a modest target of 52 runs for Nepal to chase. The match, held at the Ajman ground, saw Malaysia bat first after losing the toss, but the team struggled against a disciplined Nepal bowling attack.

Malaysia was bowled out for just 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Among the Malaysian batters, Hamzah Pangi managed to score 13 runs while Muhammad Fatul Muin contributed 11 runs. The rest of the team could not reach double figures, highlighting Nepal’s superior bowling performance.

Nepal’s bowlers delivered an outstanding display. Nitish Kumar Patel emerged as the star, taking four crucial wickets, while Chandan Ram claimed three. Captain Ashok Dhami, along with Roshan Bishwakarma and Aparajit Paudel, also picked up a wicket each, ensuring Malaysia could not post a challenging total.

Both teams have been strong performers throughout the tournament. Nepal reached the semifinals after dominating Group ‘A’, and Malaysia secured their spot as winners of Group ‘D’. The stakes are high as the winning team from this semifinal will qualify for the prestigious U-19 Asia Cup, adding further significance to the encounter.

Nepal, now facing a target of 52 runs, will look to build a steady partnership and chase the total confidently to secure a place in the final. Fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome as both teams have shown determination and skill throughout the tournament. With the Asia Cup qualification on the line, the semifinal promises competitive and thrilling cricket action for U-19 fans across the continent.
