Nepal pulled off a dramatic two-wicket win over Scotland in a tense T20 cricket match in Glasgow. After losing a close game to the Netherlands in a historic triple Super Over the day before, Nepal bounced back strongly. This time, they bowled first and kept Scotland to just 97 runs in 19.4 overs, thanks to a fantastic performance by Sandeep Lamichhane, who took four wickets for only 11 runs. Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee also took two wickets each, making it tough for Scotland to build a big score. Michael Leask was the only Scottish batter to stand out, scoring 46 runs, while the rest of the team struggled and lost wickets regularly.
Nepal’s chase of 98 runs was anything but easy. They lost two quick wickets early, and captain Rohit Paudel was bowled for just 7 runs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel tried to steady things with 30 runs, but wickets kept falling and the pressure grew. The game got very close in the final overs. With only a few runs needed and not many wickets left, every ball mattered. Kiran Thagunna was out when Nepal needed just one run from two balls, but Sandeep Lamichhane, who had already shined with the ball, kept his cool and scored the winning run with one ball left.
Nepal’s win was a big moment in the tri-series, especially after their heartbreak in the previous match. The team showed great teamwork and nerves under pressure. Sandeep Lamichhane was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance—first taking key wickets and then helping finish the game with the bat. This victory gave Nepal two important points in the series, which also includes the Netherlands.
