The Dutch delivered another dominant performance to finish ahead of Japan in the group standings and advance to the Round of 32 with strong momentum.
Early Goals Put Netherlands in Control
The Dutch took the lead within the opening minutes after Tunisian captain Ellyes Skhiri accidentally turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a dangerous cross. Shortly afterward, striker Brian Brobbey doubled the advantage by heading home from a well-worked free-kick. It was Brobbey's third goal of the tournament, further strengthening his excellent World Cup campaign.
Tunisia Respond but Dutch Stay Comfortable
Tunisia managed to reduce the deficit early in the second half when Hazem Mastouri converted a corner kick to make it 2-1. However, the Netherlands responded almost immediately as another own goal by Tunisia restored their two-goal advantage. Jan Paul van Hecke's header deflected off Anis Slimane before crossing the goal line, sealing a comfortable victory for the Dutch.
