Pakistan Fans Criticize Team After Asia Cup Final Loss to India

Pakistan Fans Criticize Team After Asia Cup Final Loss to India

Post by : Raman

Dubai: India clinched their ninth Asia Cup title on Sunday, defeating Pakistan by five wickets in a thrilling final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While the Indian team celebrated their victory, Pakistani fans expressed disappointment and frustration across social media.

Many supporters took to YouTube and X to voice their anger at Pakistan’s performance. Clips of fans criticizing their team went viral, with some saying even amateurs could have performed better. One fan remarked, “India was our father, and they will remain our father. Our generation cannot defeat them.” Another added, “The Pakistani team always faces pressure against India, while India remains calm and confident.”

Pakistani YouTuber Umer Afzaal also slammed bowler Haris Rauf for his provocative ‘plane’ gestures on the field, calling them unnecessary. Fans criticized the gesture further, saying Pakistan’s early batting promise was lost due to a collapse of wickets, leaving them heartbroken.

Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria shared a symbolic post on X, mocking the tradition of fans breaking televisions after losing to India, reflecting the depth of disappointment among supporters.

On the field, Pakistan batted first and started well with an 84-run opening partnership between Farhan Sahibzada (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46). However, Varun Chakravarthy’s two quick wickets and subsequent bowling by Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel led to Pakistan being all out for 146.

India’s innings began shakily as they lost Abhishek Sharma and skipper Suryakumar Yadav early, falling to 20-3. Tilak Varma anchored the chase with an unbeaten 69, supported by Shivam Dube (33), guiding India to victory with just two balls to spare.

The match left Pakistani fans questioning their team’s performance and expressing frustration at repeated disappointments against India.
