JEDDAH — The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Makkah Region has initiated a significant program aimed at distributing copies of the Holy Quran to international pilgrims as they depart the Kingdom following their Hajj pilgrimage.
Currently taking place at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, this initiative allows pilgrims to receive a complimentary copy of the Holy Quran, a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, just before they board their flights home.
This year, the program includes an impressive total of 1.9 million copies of the Holy Quran, printed by the esteemed King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah, recognized globally for its high standards in Quran publication.
To cater to a diverse range of pilgrims, the editions being distributed feature translations of the Quran's meanings in over 80 languages. This aims to assist pilgrims in their spiritual journeys as they return home, enabling them to read and comprehend the Quran in their native tongue.
Officials state that this campaign underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to serving pilgrims and sharing the message of Islam globally. It aligns with the Kingdom's broader goal of enhancing religious services for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and elevating their pilgrimage experiences.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has confirmed that distribution will operate continuously in the forthcoming days. Beyond airports, copies of the Holy Quran will also be provided at land border crossings and seaports across the nation, ensuring every departing pilgrim has the chance to receive this meaningful gift.
This annual initiative stands as one of Saudi Arabia's most important outreach programs, allowing countless pilgrims to bring a lasting spiritual reminder of their experience at the holy sites of Makkah and Madinah back to their home countries.
