The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has announced that the Kingdom is fully equipped to meet the increasing demand for sacrificial animals during the Hajj 1447 AH season.
According to the ministry, Saudi Arabia boasts a robust livestock inventory, featuring over 22 million sheep, 7.6 million goats, 2.2 million camels, and more than 510,000 cattle. This substantial supply bolsters food security and promotes self-sufficiency throughout the country.
Additionally, authorities emphasized the nation’s cutting-edge animal health and disease prevention systems, which play a crucial role in ensuring livestock safety and quality throughout the bustling Hajj period.
The ministry has confirmed that livestock markets and slaughterhouses in Makkah are adequately prepared to cater to pilgrims, offering a plentiful supply of high-quality sacrificial animals. Increased field inspections and health monitoring initiatives have been implemented to guarantee compliance with health and safety protocols.
Officials noted that these measures are designed to safeguard public health, maintain product quality, and ensure seamless services for the millions of pilgrims arriving for Hajj.
